Forza Motorsport 4 Demo on Xbox Live

If you are a fan of racing games you should check out the Forza Motorsport 4 Demo now available on Xbox Live.  I played a a little bit of the 3rd installment and enjoyed it.  It reminds me a lot of Grand Tourismo but doesn’t seem to take itself quite as seriously.  Heres a link to the Xbox Live page

Diablo 3 Closed Beta

Diablo 3

Today Blizzard decided to start off the closed beta of Diablo 3! Rumor has it invites have only gone out to press and media so far. Reports are showing around only about 60 people actively playing the beta. In a forum post from a blizzard employee they stated they will continue to send out invites as needed and once the servers are stable and can handle more traffic. This is good news for us who have not received an invite yet, we may still be in the running! I sure hope to receive an invite soon! Check out the forum post here for more information directly from Blizzard.

Battlefield 3 Open Beta Date set for Sept. 29th

Well we finally have a date! I’ll be honest and say I am a little disappointed that it is pretty much at the end of the month and I believe it has been announced that the beta ends on October 10th. This doesn’t give us a whole lot of time to play it – but at least we get to and it will be a blast. I believe those who pre-ordered it on Origin will get to play on the 27th, but I haven’t found a source to confirm this yet. Oh well, in 10 days we will all be playing BF3!

My Original Portal Map

Portal Image

I spent quite a bit of time mapping in Portal 1 right before the release of Portal 2.  I learned a ton on the mechanics of mapping with Valves Hammer Editor and the structure of Portal maps.  If you are a fan of custom Portal 1 maps or custom  maps in general click the link below to check it out. is an awesome website with constant flow of custom maps coming in.  Hopefully I will finish my Portal 2 map one of these days, been too busy!

BF3 Alpha Media Blowout

Check out this BF3 footage from the alpha.  Lemonjelly1969 made a compliation video from much of the current alpha content right now.

What are your opinions on BF3 so far?  I really need to see some large scale maps before I make too many judgments, right now it looks like a slightly improved Bad Company 2 sequel or something.  It is easy to get caught up in the hype, not to mention the sweet single player trailers DICE released… but is it really anything new?  I want to say, YES, but until I see the large maps with jets flying I am reserving my full opinion on the game.  Some things from the alpha footage I like are the multiple knife killing animations, improved animations overall, and the increased destruction effects.
